Meet Gauri

Growing up British-Indian in the UK, some of my strongest memories are built around food. My grandparents came to Britain in the 1960s, bringing with them a tradition of generous, vibrant hospitality — tables overflowing with colour, flavour and warmth.

Family celebrations were always a production. Not in a stressful way, but in the way that mattered — everyone fed, everyone looked after, every dish made with pride. The food wasn't just served; it was the heart of the gathering.

When I started helping friends and family with their own events, I noticed a gap. The venues were beautiful. The flowers were stunning. But the food? Often forgettable. Beige buffets. Generic trays. Catering that blended into the background rather than becoming part of the experience.

That felt wrong to me. Food should be one of the highlights — something guests remember, photograph and talk about. Something that reflects the hosts and sets the tone for the whole celebration.

House of Chandel was born from that conviction. We bring the bold, flavour-packed spirit of Indian cooking into modern, beautifully styled formats that suit any event — from intimate baby showers to grand weddings and polished corporate launches.

Every menu is bespoke. Every display is designed to create a visual "wow" moment. And every event is treated with the same care and warmth that my family brought to those big gatherings growing up.
